RioStar Wheat

This hybrid wheat beer is an easy drinking variation of the Farmhouse style with grapefruit peel instead of orange peel. A light, refreshing beer with a kiss of citrus to complement the dominant yeast profile. This recipe serves as a good base for a variety of yeast types, from Weizen to Saison to Wit. A base of dry wheat malt extract, with German Dark Wheat and CaraRed® malt and a touch of flaked oats creates a creamy, slightly orange-pink beer balanced by a Willamette hops and flavored with grapefruit peel.

It is highly recommended to use the liquid yeast strain(s) suggested for this recipe in order to attain the full yeast flavors desired for this beer.
