**Purchasing an Ice Pack and/or 2-day shipping, as well as doing a yeast starter, is always recommended to ensure the viability of liquid yeast. As a courtesy, one ice pack has already been selected in the product options section and will be added to your cart when you buy the yeast unless you deselect this option. We will cover shipping costs for this first ice pack, additional ice packs can be purchased here**
Please note: We recommend liquid yeast be shipped using 2-day air with adequate ice packs (1-2 ice packs per vial, available here), especially during warmer months. To reduce shipping costs, customers should order yeast separately from other products a few days before planning to brew. This provides a chance to make a yeast starter to ensure a strong and healthy ferment. Having a backup yeast, whether liquid or dry, is always a good idea. A yeast starter will also confirm the viability of the yeast. If the yeast was damaged during shipping, we can replace a yeast that doesn’t start, but not a beer that does not ferment.
