This 'old' (alt) style is an unusual German beer in that it is a cool-fermented, lagered ale. Low fermentation temperatures (60-64F) are key to keep this ale clean with a full. rich malt character from German Caramunich Malt. Balanced by German Opal and Smaragd, this Dusseldorf Alt style beer will benefit from extended lagering (cold storage).
1.053 OG, 40 IBU
Recommended yeast:
Liquid: Wyeast 1007 German Ale Yeast or 1010 American Wheat Ale Yeast
Dry: Fermentis Safale US-05
